The sports car, Toyota TRD GT86's special edition which was earlier
showcased at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed got a green flag now
from the company. The company has now officially announced to bring in
this special edition in the markets of UK by 2013.Since there is some more information revealed, so we tried to figure out
what the company meant by "ultimate road going evolution" that they
used for Toyota Racing Development (TRD) GT86. This rear wheel drive
sports coupe was first showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon in early 2012.
The special edition hasn't got any changes but some add-ons that
certainly helps it turn “ultimate road going'' vehicle. The changes
include a lower front spoiler with aerodynamic 'fins' ahead of the front
wheels, a larger wing, wider side skirts and a new diffuser.
It also gets an all new 18-inch forged alloy wheels with Michelin tyres
and a TRC badged oil filler cap fixed on the top, which makes it look
sportier. All new sporty “bucket seats” too have been fitted inside,
along with new instrument panel that shows water and oil temperature and
pressures. Moreover it gets a red start button and an all new TRD
badged gearshift knob adding more beauty to it.
Although the engine has been kept the same, but giving it a new
adjustable suspension system, thicker anti-roll bars (front and rear),
more efficient mono block brake kit, new exhaust system with quad
tailpipes improve the overall engine performance and response, thus
completes the package.
As per the word on street, the special edition Toyota TRD GT86 will be rolled out in the UK by January 2013.
